JACKSON, Mississippi - Thursday, May 13,
the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) will sponsor the
Mississippi Braves game at 7:00PM at Trustmark Park in Pearl.
MDRS is a state agency that provides
resources to help Mississippians with disabilities find new careers, live more
independently, overcome obstacles, and face new challenges. Tonight’s sponsorship promotes the prevention
of sports related concussions, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord
injuries.
In 2014, Mississippi had over 4,000
traumatic brain injuries. These injuries
are not only sports related, but are also caused by hunting, ATV and other
accidents.
Allison Lowther, MDRS TBI/SCI Trust Fund
Coordinator, will be on the radio during the second inning to raise awareness
of TBI prevention. Tune in to WYAB 103.9 FM in Jackson to listen.
Join MDRS Thursday May 13 at Trustmark
Park for a night of baseball.
