JACKSON, Miss. —
It’s prom season and students are looking to enjoy time with their friends, while law enforcement is concerned about safety.
There’s a prom safety initiative that’s a joint effort between the Highway Patrol, the State Department of Rehabilitation Services and Families First of Mississippi. It’s called PROM and stands for “Please Return On Monday.”
Organizers have been visiting schools around the state encouraging students to make smart decisions. They say buckle up, don’t text and drive, and don’t drink and drive. Make smart decisions. Make smart choices, and don’t be afraid to let an adult know if you or a friend is headed for trouble or in trouble.
It’s all about having a good time and also about staying alive so you can “Please Return On Monday.”
