NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE STATE WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD IN PLANNING THE STATE’S WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT PROPOSAL

NOTICE is hereby given that the State Workforce Investment Board (SWIB) will hold a public hearing on Friday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Clyde Muse Center at Hinds Community College - 515 Country Place Pkwy, Pearl, MS 39208. 

The purpose is to receive public comments in the planning of the state’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). These public hearings will be held in conjunction with the SWIB task force meetings and are specifically designed to afford the public the opportunity to hear about the WIOA planning process and to allow the public to offer any comments about the proposed plan.

Notice of Public Hearing

FFY 2016 VR/VRB State Plan
MDRS will conduct a public hearing on Friday, August 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Madison Central Office located at 1281 Highway 51 North, Madison, MS, and the remote sites listed below.  This hearing will provide an opportunity for interested citizens, especially those with disabilities, to comment on the FFY 2016 State Plan for OVR and OVRB.  Additionally at this hearing, MDRS staff will provide information about the Mississippi Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and how it will impact Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Mississippi. 
 
Copies of the State Plan will be available in large print for review beginning Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Madison Central Office and the locations listed below.  The State Plan will also be linked on the MDRS website at www.mdrs.ms.gov.  A version of the State Plan in Braille is available upon request. If you would like to review the State Plan on the Newsline for the Blind at no cost, you may apply online at www.nfb.org or contact Margaret Smitherman at the Library for the Blind at (601) 432-4111.  All comments regarding the FFY 2016 State Plan received during the public hearing or submitted in writing will be noted, recorded, and considered.
